The Role of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) in Data-Driven Business Transformation

Much of the business transformation & innovation in today’s marketplace is driven by data. Business optimization, and entirely new business models, are emerging as data-driven technology provides unprecedented opportunity for innovation and change.

The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is a role that has historically been associated with the “back office” of IT.  But how does the role of the CDO now change in the data-driven enterprise? And how does this role differ from, or collaborate with, roles such as the Chief Analytics Officer, the Chief Information Officer?  Is the CDO a leader of business transformation, a supporting role that defines the technical infrastructure for change, or a combination of both?
